Five for Friday
I am officially on summer vacation! Our last day with kiddos was on Monday and we had a SIP day on Tuesday. It seems surreal that summer vacation is here. I am linking up for my favorite linky party Five for Friday for an end of year/summer vacation edition. Here we go…
I am happy for some time to rest and relax, but I sure am going to miss my kiddos! My class was a dream this year. They all got along, for the most part, and we were able to accomplish a lot.
One of my sweet kiddos said this to me towards the end of the day, talk about melt your heart. I’m glad she will be here next year so I can wave to her when I see her with her first grade class.
The Chicago Blackhawks are going to give me a nervous breakdown! Holy Stress! The game on Wednesday was definitely a nail-bitter, especially at the end! That clock couldn’t run out fast enough! Luckily we finished with a win! We Want the Cup!
The Hubby and I are attempting to eat better. We have heard so many good things about The Whole 30. We are avoiding carbs and sugar. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I love my coffee! I usually drink it with almond milk and brown sugar. It has been an adjustment drinking it black. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried an iced Blueberry coffee black from DD. It had a hint of sweetness all on its own. I think I found my new summer drink!
I have grand plans for myself this summer. Plans that involve sipping on an iced coffee and turning the pages of many novels. My current list includes:
I am anxiously awaiting for my copy of Learn like a Pirate to come in the mail from Amazon. I can’t wait to jump in and link up with The Primary Gal for her book study covering this book! It sounds like a great read. I am also planning to participate in a book study on The Book Whisperer. I can’t wait!
If anyone has any book recommendations I would love to hear them.
Jayme from Teach, Talk, Inspire and I hosted our first summer linky party, “Tell All Tuesday”! Wow, I was blown away by the link ups. Thank you to everyone who took the time to link up with us. It was great to read through your “Two Truths and a Lie”. Some were hard to guess! We will be linking up every Tuesday with a fun summer topic and we would love for you to join in on the fun.
This week our post was called “Two Truths and a Lie”. Here is my reveal…
Fact 1: True– Going into my senior year of college I studied abroad. We were able to take 10 credit hours and we traveled to London, Germany, and Austria. It was a memorable trip. I went with 5 of my friends from college.
Fact 2: Lie– I was not able to get a job right out of college. I was a teaching assistant and a long term substitute for 2 years before I landed my first job as a third grade teacher. I spent one year in third and then was moved down to kindergarten. I enjoyed teaching third, but my heart is in K. I love this grade level.
Fact 3: True: I am always early. My band director really did say that. I get nervous if I think I’m going to be late or if I know people are waiting for me. I usually am one of the first to be at school. It is a great time to get stuff done and then I can leave shortly after the school day is over.
Thanks again for linking up and playing along. Be sure to check out this Tuesday for our next link up!
That wraps up my week! Thank you for taking the time to read through my adventures. I am off to walk the dynamic duo (separately). Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!
