Tech Tuesday
It has been a few Tuesdays, but I am excited to link up once again with Marie from Once Upon a Classroom for her fun Tech Tuesday Linky Party.
The technology tool I am going to share today is called SCREENCAST-O-Matic. It is a FREE online screen recorder. This tool enables you to record your computer screen to do step by step tutorials for students and parents. Or students can use it during projects to showcase their learning.
Once you sign in you will be on the main page. To record you hit the blue record button at the top right.
A box will surround your screen and you can click and drag what area you would like to record.
Then you can click the red record button and record your screen cast. When I did my Screencast I used an external microphone that I plugged into my computer. I found this gave me the best audio.
After you are done you can save it to any desired location and share it.
I plan to record a few tutorials for my parents next year to help them navigate through some of our school systems, such as accessing our website for important information and report cards.
I also thought this would be a great tool to use when I am absent. If I could Screencast a lesson the substitute teacher could show it to get the class started on the activity.
Be sure to check out Once Upon a Classroom for other great tech tips and tools to use in the classroom. Have a great Tuesday!
