Five For Friday
Hip, Hip, Hooray we made it to Friday. Even more exciting, it is my LAST Friday of the school year. After today we have two wake ups and then summer break! As always I have mixed emotions. It is exciting to start summer break, but I sure am going to miss these munchkins. Before I start my Friday, I am ready to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly link up.
What better way to celebrate the end of the year than with a memory book?! We started our SuperKids Memory Book this week and have been adding to it each day. The kiddos have been enjoying their time reminiscing about the year and adding their favorite parts of kindergarten. Have I mentioned that I really am going to miss this group?!
We have been busy working on our Father’s Day books. The picture above says, “I love when we go to get hot chocolate.” Every Wednesday this little kiddo comes in with a cup from Dunkin Donuts. The first time she did it I was like, “You brought me coffee?!” I was sadly mistaken when she corrected me and told me that it was her hot chocolate. Every Wednesday they have a tradition of grabbing hot chocolate before school. She is one of three and this is a special time between her and her Dad, I thought that was the cutest!
You can find this book and other activities for Father’s Day in my Father’s Day Packet. Click on the picture below.
We are wrapping up our community helper unit! This week we learned about garbage collectors and police officers. My cousin is a police officer and he volunteered to come in and talk to the K classes about his job. They were in Aw, he was a big hit.
My friend Jayme from Teach, Talk, Inspire and I are starting a new summer linky party! There are so many new bloggers on the scene and we want a way to get to know each other. With summer approaching, now is a perfect time to start! Our summer link up will happen every Tuesday and our first one is on June 9th. The topic will change each week. This week we are going to get to know each other by playing, “Two Truths and a Lie!” In your blog post tell us three “facts” about yourself. Make 2 of them true and one a lie. In the comment section your readers will guess which ones are not. After three days, come back and tell us which one was the lie! We can’t wait to play along with you and learn something new about our readers and fellow bloggers! Make sure to check out our blog on Tuesday to link up and join in on the fun!
This time of year is always, go, go, go. Some teacher friends and I decided to take a night to pause for a moment and have some fun. We tried Paint Nite.
I had no idea what to expect. I always admired the pictures I would see online of people who did these events, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to create the intended picture…
It was a great time. The instructor took her time and explained how to do each step. She walked around and offered advice and assistance.
I must admit, I am proud of my first painting!
It was a fun night and lots of laughs!
Well, that about wraps up my week. Thank you for taking the time to read all about it! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend! For those of us finishing up the school year, We CAN do it! 🙂
