Five for Friday
Happy Friday Everyone! I’m excited to be linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my second to last Friday of the school year! We have reached single digits! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and this month has been a whirlwind. I will be sad to see this group of kiddos go! I have a great class this year, we have fun together, learn together, cheer each other on, and support each other. It is a great classroom community. Well, before I shed a tear or two I’m going to get started with my Five for Friday, here we go…
This week we started our animal research. We have been learning about text features all quarter. Now it is time for the kiddos to show what they know. Each student chose an animal and we have been using PebbleGo and informational text to find facts and record information. The goal is to become experts on an animal and then create a book, poster, or power point to share with the class. It has been fun to watch them tie all the pieces together.
The Blackhawks have been causing everyone in the Schuda Household a bit of anxiety, even our four legged friends. It is exciting to watch them play and we are hoping they can pull off a win on Saturday! Come on Hawks, you can do it!!
Since we have some time in June before the school year ends I thought I would create some activities to do for Father’s Day. I am excited to try these activities out! The picture above is part of my Father’s Day packet on TpT and you can find it here. I will post pictures of us in action next week!
I can not say enough good things about this teacher community. I started this adventure in February and I have loved every second of it. The teachers I have connected with are awesome! So many talented educators reside within this community and I am inspired each and every day.
Jayme from Teach, Talk, Inspire and I have teamed together for a giveaway. What better way to kick off the summer then by doing a little shopping without having to spend any money! We are giving away two gift cards, one to Target and one to Michael’s. This giveaway goes until Tuesday so be sure to check out the original post here to get all the details.
Also, we are excited to be starting a summer weekly linky party starting on Tuesday, June 9th. Each Tuesday the topic will change, but the purpose is to be able to get to know each other a little better. Our first topic is an All about Me post. Be on the look out for our first link up to join in on the fun!
One thing I always love about summer time is being able to have the time to read. Reading is one of my favorite things to do, but I never have enough time to do it during the school year. I either find other things that I need to do or I start to read a few pages before bed and fall asleep.
I’m excited to be able to check off some of the books on my book list this summer. One book I am looking forward to reading is The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller. I am participating in a book study with a few other teachers. Buy your copy and jump in on the conversations.
Well, that wraps up my week in K! We have our annual kindergarten field trip today. I’m currently attempting to channel as much energy as I can summon to be able to keep up with my kiddos. I am not a fortune teller, but I see an early night of Netflix in my future! 😉 Have a great day and weekend!
