Five for Friday
It’s the first week of September and I’m excited to be writing my Five for Friday to link up with Doodle Bug’s Teaching. September, October, and November are probably my favorite months to teach. Your kiddos start moving and groovin’ with the classroom routines and there are a lot of fun activities to complete.
Fall is my favorite. It just makes my heart happy. I love the colors, pumpkin everything, Halloween, decorating, I could go on and on. Of course on September 1st I had to go through the drive thru of my favorite Dunkin Donuts and have my first Pumpkin coffee of the season. To say I am addicted is an understatement. I can’t get enough. It is sweet enough so I always get it black. I think they have my order memorized! 🙂
One of my sweet friends sent this poster to me in a care package and I just squealed with delight. I love it. It was the perfect addition to my classroom. My kiddos loved it too. We have been going over our classroom rules every day and I really think they are doing a nice job of following them. I’m really excited for a fun year of learning with this group!
I had to take my sweet Mario back to the vet this week because he started hoping on three legs again. He has really bad allergies and usually during the end of summer/early spring he will start licking his paws. This season has been particularly rough and he just won’t leave them alone. He irritated his one paw so bad it got infected, so the doctor wrapped it for me and the poor guy is on an antibiotic and steroids.
Luckily he’s still smiling and enjoying life! 🙂
We have a four day week this week with kids and teacher meetings today. Yesterday we finished up the week with reading Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom and creating our own coconut tree with our name hanging out of it. The kiddos did a really nice job following directions. This is the first “BIG” project we complete with multiple steps. As I scanned the room I had a lot of little tongues poking out as they carefully concentrated and cut around the tree. I was happy with the way they turned out and I’m excited to hang them outside our door.
We have been focusing on writing one number a day during math. Yesterday was number four and I was pleasantly pleased with the formation. I was still recovering from our day before when we concentrated on the number 3. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it out of the classroom that day. 😉
Well, that wraps up my Five for Friday. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read through our week. I hope you have a great day and weekend!
