Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Kindergarten teachers have a lot on their shoulders. They have the responsibility to help transition an entire group of students to school who have never done it before. But, on top of that, kindergarten teachers also must help parents and families make the same transition! Today, I want to share a new learning opportunity with you that can help make the first part of your kindergarten year easy! It is called The First 25 Days of K!

What is The First 25 Days of K?

The First 25 Days of K is a course I developed to support kindergarten teachers of all kinds. I have said for many years that the first 25 days of kindergarten are the most challenging, but the most critical. If you start your year with a strong foundation, you reap the benefits for months to come! My goal in creating this resource is to simplify the process of starting the school year. I want each teacher who enrolls to feel empowered that they have the tools they need to start their year with confidence. And, I want each teacher who enrolls to have an easier school year, because of how they spent the first 25 days! It has been a long-time dream of mine to create a course that covers starting the year off on the right foot, and I am so excited it’s here!

How Can this Course Benefit Me?

I developed The First 25 Days of K to support kindergarten teachers of all career paths. Maybe you are a novice kindergarten teacher. A course like this is perfect for a new teacher, because you learn to avoid the mistakes that so many new teachers make. Maybe you are a veteran teacher who is moving to kindergarten for the first time. You know all about setting up a classroom and starting the year off on the right foot, but you’d like to hear how an experienced kindergarten teacher does it. This saves you the time it takes to research things yourself. Additionally, this course is even great for veteran kindergarten teachers who need a re-fresh. It’s best practice to continue growing as an educator, no matter how long you’ve taught. We are lifelong learners, after all!

So, no matter where you are in your teaching journey, The First 25 Days of K gives you the tools to set your year up for success!

What Will We Cover?

The First 25 Days of K course is broken into four main modules. These modules cover the things that I have learned after years to teaching kindergarten. Every year that I have taught, I have been able to refine my back to school procedures to reduce stress. The less stressed you are the first few weeks of school, the better your mental health will be…and the easier the rest of the year will be!

Module 1: Before School Starts: What should a kindergarten teacher do to prepare for back to school before the students arrive?
Module 2: The First Day of School: What should the first day of kindergarten look like? What lessons and activities work well?
Module 3: The First Week and Beyond: The first week of school sets the stage for the rest of your year! Really! We chat about creating a solid first week to set yourself up for a solid year.
Module 4: Building your Classroom Community: Everything in kindergarten is easier if your classroom is a community that thrives on mutual respect. We will cover some simple and easy ways to build a classroom community right off the bat.
