Welcome to my Home Office!
I am excited to be linking up with Angie from Lucky Little Learners as well as Ashley from Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd for their #2getherwearebetter blog linky series. This month is all about your home office. What a great idea for a link up!
Here is my little corner of happiness.
You can find me here a lot these days. Between creating products for TpT, blogging, and working on grad school I have pretty much camped out in this section of the house. The hubby checks on me every few hours to make sure I am still breathing!
I have an obsession with chalkboards. Maybe it is a sign I was always destined to be a teacher! 😉 I love the way they look, I love writing and doodling on them, and it has always been a dream of mine to paint a chalkboard wall. Perhaps one day when the hubby and I move into our dream house.
My calendar is pictures of Italy. One place I have always wanted to travel to is Italy. It is definitely on my bucket list. Everything about Italy memorizes me, the food, the people, the scenery, the wine! I can’t wait to experience it first hand one day!
A few details on my desk are my White Sox mouse pad in honor of the best baseball team in Chicago 😉 as well as a scene from one of my favorite movies. Call me corny, but I love 80s movies. On a rainy day you can usually find me watching Sixteen Candles, Can’t Buy me Love, The Breakfast Club, I could go on and on. I also have some of my favorite oils next to me as I work. Valor for strength and courage and Joy to uplift the spirits.
On the other side of my desk I keep a journal to jot down notes or reminders to myself. The mug where I hold my chalk is from an old student of mine. The art teacher at my school does a fun program called Artsonia. She uploads student art work onto the site and parents can go on and buy their son or daughter’s artwork on canvases, magnets, t-shirts, etc. One year a student gave me his artwork printed on this mug. I love it! I think it is a great keepsake. The mason jar is actually from my bachelorette party. The girls in my bridal party and I went to Nashville for the weekend to celebrate one last fling before the ring. My sweet maid of honor made these up for each of us. I love mason jars, I use them for everything, flower vases, pen cups, food containers. Lastly the picture is a group shot of some of my dear friends. We met in college and have been close ever since! I adore them.
Across from my desk is this couch. Mario has taken ownership of it and whenever I am working at my desk he stations himself right here. He has a comfy spot to be close to me and be a good guard dog as he watches down the stairs out the window.
Every once in a while when I want a change of scenery I venture down to the dining room and work on my laptop. It is nice to work down there because I can also hang out with my hubby at the same time.
