Five For Friday

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly Five for Friday Linky Party.

I am super excited to write this Five for Friday because I get to reveal my NEW blog design! (if you think I am smiling ear to ear and shrieking with excitement you are right) My new design is by the talented Tenille from Designs by Tenille.  I loved my old blog design, but wanted something that was more custom and my own.  Tenille received rave reviews from my new friend Jayme from Teach, Talk, Inspire and I knew after the emails back and forth she was the designer for me. She listened to what I envisioned and created a design that was exactly what I wanted.  She was patient and willing to make adjustments.  If anyone out there is looking for a blog designer Tenille is your gal.  She is wonderful!

Did you know that pandas like to swim? Did you know that elephants are the largest land animal?  Our text feature this week was fun facts.  We also practiced using the table of contents and glossary.  Next week we are tying all the text features together, I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

My kiddos have become quite the talkers, so I have put this to good use. 😉 We finished up our measurement and graphing unit by creating our own surveys and collecting data.  It was a great opportunity to walk around, get some wiggles out, and talk with peers.  Have I mentioned how cute it is to watch them walk around with a clipboard?! I am proud to say they chatted their way through math with ease! 😉

EXCITING NEWS! Our sunflower seeds started to sprout.  We have enjoyed watching them throughout the week and were excited to take them home yesterday.  A former student of mine gave me a picture of his sunflower seed that he planted in his garden at home.  It was almost six feet tall.  I love pulling out that picture and showing my current students.  I hope some of their sunflowers grow that tall.
Before I sign off for the weekend, I’m ending my post on a personal note.  My hubby and I are celebrating our first anniversary on Sunday.  It amazes me how fast a year went.  I feel like we were just planning the other day.  I am so thankful to have such a wonderful, thoughtful, loving, and caring husband who supports me through thick and thin.  I am one lucky girl.

Well that wraps up my week.  Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend!
