Five for Friday

Happy Friday Friends! I am excited to have the chance to link up with Doodle Bug’s Teaching for one of my favorite linkys.  #realtalk, it’s been so hard to get into a routine of blogging with all the craziness of back to school activities.  I am hoping as we continue to settle into a routine I can get back to it.  Here we go…

I know I’ve mentioned it once or twice before, but this group of kiddos LOVE to use Play-Doh.  They have been having a great time with these play dough mats.

This week we started our five senses unit.  We introduced the five senses on Monday and then talked about sight, hearing, and smell.  Next week we plan to cover the rest.  I used the cards in the upper right corner as a matching game where they had to find the sense that went with the picture.

For the next two weeks we are celebrating colors.  This week we focused on red, orange, yellow, green, and purple.  Next week we will focus on blue, brown, black, white, and finish with rainbow day.  Each day the kids dress in the color we are focusing on.  When they have down time they can work on letters or puzzles.  This kiddo decided to try the color puzzles.

In the morning I have a small gathering outside of my door of former students.  It is always a great way to start the day.  I appreciate that they take the time to stop by and say a quick hello to me.  One of my kiddos from last year handed me this flower yesterday and it just made me smile.  I love my job! 🙂

Personally, we have some very exciting things in the works as of lately.  I can’t wait to share all the good news.  For right now I am being patient and thinking positive thoughts.  I stumbled upon this during my nightly scroll through Pinterest and couldn’t help but include it because I think it is so true.
On that note, I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!
